COMMUNITY
Donations & Sponsorship
At Barossa Helicopters, we receive numerous requests for sponsorships and donations every week—ranging from raffle prizes to community fundraisers. While we’re proud to support causes close to our hearts, we’ve developed a policy to manage these requests fairly and sustainably.
Our Policy
We offer sponsorship or donations once per year, with total contributions (cash and in-kind) allocated for each financial year. Our support is guided by alignment with our business values and personal connection to the cause.
While we typically don’t provide free helicopter flights for raffles or silent auctions, we’re happy to offer experiences at significantly reduced rates to help organisations secure high-value prizes.

2023 Christmas Campaign
Though your support of our flights, we raised $1055 over the Christmas / New Year of 2023/2024. This support provided stationary supplies for children starting school.
Backpacks for SA Kids is a charity supporting kids in need. These kids might just need a helping hand, in foster care or homeless. No child should ever want for basics.
Backpacks for SA Kids help between 3-5000 South Australian vulnerable children and young people each year.
We will continue to support this amazing organisation into the future.

Our Chief Pilot, Bridgette, is a passionate barrel racer! She discovered the sport when she was around 15 years old, and after a few years of ups and downs, she’s now on a journey to consistency.
In the 2023/2024 season, she took her own horse, “Viper,” whom she bred and trained, to rodeos across South Australia, from big professional events to smaller club gatherings.
2023 / 2024 summer, Bridgette was up at the crack of dawn, putting in the hours before work to train and prepare Viper for competition.
But Bridgette and Viper aren’t going it alone – they’ve got a team of supporters who go above and beyond to help them succeed. 2024-2025 they are set to compete at all South Australian's Rodeo's including the first of the season, Barossa Timed Event Rodeo.

In 2012, Nick Throup emerged victorious in the grueling 24-hour trial!
This upcoming event holds even greater significance as Nick joins his brothers, Tristan and Sean, forming a formidable team.
From the Barossa Valley, biking has been a shared passion binding the Throup boys since their childhood.
Nick’s journey has taken him far and wide, exploring the world and now pursuing a career as a helicopter pilot here with Barossa Helicopters.
Now back in the familiar terrain of the Barossa, he eagerly anticipates reconnecting with his roots, especially the exhilarating 24 hour with his brothers.
Dubbed Australia’s ultimate test of endurance, the HARDI 24 Hour Trial has been a hallmark event since its inception in 1924. Annually held on the second weekend of July, the starting point alternates between Eudunda and Kapunda in South Australia, drawing participants and enthusiasts from far and wide.
We wish the Throup boys all the best of luck to not only finish but be victorious!
