RotorTech 2026 on the Gold Coast was an incredible few days of reconnecting, learning and reflecting on just how strong and passionate our aviation community really is.
Held at the RACV Royal Pines Resort from 6–8 May, RotorTech brought together professionals from across the helicopter, uncrewed flight and Advanced Air Mobility sectors for three days of exhibitions, conferences, networking and industry collaboration. The event continues to grow as one of the premier vertical flight industry gatherings in our region, with a strong focus on innovation, safety and the future of aviation.
I had the privilege of being part of the panel discussion “Operations Outlook 2026: Safety, Strategy & Sector Shifts” alongside some truly respected leaders in the aviation industry. Sharing the stage with people who bring such a wealth of operational experience and knowledge was both inspiring and humbling. The conversations around safety, operational challenges and the future direction of our industry were honest, insightful and incredibly valuable.
But for me, the real highlight of RotorTech wasn’t just the panel discussions or the impressive technology on display — it was the people.
Reconnecting with friends and colleagues from across the industry and the country. Aviation is a small world, and it’s always special to catch up with people who understand the journey, the challenges and the passion behind what we do.

What really stayed with me after the event were the conversations I had following the panel session. So many people came up to me genuinely interested in my personal journey — not just the business, not just the operations, but the story behind it all.
One comment in particular really hit home:
“Bridge, you are an inspiration.”
To be honest, that meant more than I can probably put into words.
So, over the next few months, you’re going to start hearing more about the history and journey of not just me, but Barossa Helicopters as well — the highs, the challenges, the lessons and the people who helped shape where we are today.
There’s a lot more to come. Stay tuned and watch this space!
